Problem:
Hair Chalk is not coloring hair when applied.
Solution:
One of the following:
1) Your hair is not wet enough. Your hair needs to be damp (not dry or soaked). Use a spray bottle for the best consistency. Do a strand at a time spraying your hair with water as you go so it does not evaporate while you’re coloring a different strand.
2) There is some type of product in your hair. Whether it’s hairspray, hair gel, or even leave in conditioner or a detangling spray, any product that is applied to your hair will make it so the Hair Chalk does not adhere to it. Hair chalk is best applied when your hair is clean and dry.
Problem:
Hair Chalk color is dripping everywhere
Solution:
Your hair is too wet. Allow your hair to dry then lightly spray it with a water bottle, your hair should be damp, not wet.
Problem:
Hair chalk has worn out overnight and is all over everything.
Solution:
Do not brush your hair after applying the hair chalk, and if you must do so gently. If the problem continues try a higher quality Hair Chalk.
Problem:
Your hair feels dry and brittle after applying the Hair Chalk.
Solution:
There really is not a solution to this as Hair Chalk is going to dry out your hair a bit. After you wash the Hair Chalk out of your hair be sure to use a deep conditioner to help repair any damage that the Hair Chalk may have caused.
Problem:
The color washes out after one wash.
Solution:
Most Hair Chalks will not last through the first shampoo unless you have light colored hair. It is best to apply the color the day you want to use it and plan to not wash your hair for a day or two to get the maximum amount of time out of your hair color.
